introduction
Over the past few years, anime conventions in the US have been experiencing a growing presence of J-music. Fans have gotten together and have organized masquerade events, panels, and even dedicated video rooms. This site aims to follow various efforts of bringing J-music to these conventions.
anti-bootleg campaign
Despite many conventions having a no-bootleg policy in effect, non-anime bootleg music has always slipped through, even from high-profiled dealers. Fans and convention organizers must be made aware of this.
conventions
Follow the links below for a more in-depth coverage of what goes on at these conventions.

Ushicon

This convention currently features a dedicated J-pop room which runs almost 24 hours a day as well as panels.
A-kon
Radio Wasabi has put on the oldest dedicated J-pop room out of any conventions. Recently there has been less focus on the room and more focus on bringing over indies musicians from Japan.
AnimeFEST!
Out of all of the conventions, AnimeFEST! gives the most support towards Japanese music. With close ties to Japanese music labels, AnimeFEST has more luck in obtaining artists signed to a major label. There is also a 24 hour J-pop/live action room.
Other coventions
I have only worked on the three conventions above, but other conventions deserve mentions as well.
